PRODUCT REVIEW: CIKU BEAUTY LIPSTICK

My first beauty post! YAAY! Haha! No, seriously, I’m pretty excited to be sharing this particular post, you have no idea!

So, for those of you who have been living in some deep, dark hole (Lol), Ciku Beauty is a fairly new makeup line that specializes in high quality makeup products at affordable prices. They introduced their first lipstick collection which boasts a variety of fifteen colours- both matte and moisturizing, so there’s definitely something for everyone ūüôā

Today I’ll be reviewing four shades from this collection, as well as sharing with you the makeup¬†products used to achieve each look.

“RUBY RUBY” (MATTE)

It’s no doubt that this lippie is¬†drop-dead gorgeous and would probably look amazing on any complexion, let alone with any outfit!¬†In fact, if I was to take a wild guess, I’d say “Ruby Ruby” is the line’s best seller ūüôā

Unfortunately, my lips have been going through a dry spell of some sort lately (No pun intended),¬†so my experience with matte lipsticks¬†is generally¬†quite sad ūüôĀ I was advised to try using¬†a beeswax based¬†lipbalm¬†before applying matte products, so that’s definitely on the agenda and I’ll be sure to share the results ūüôā

Back to “Ruby Ruby”, my makeup artist, Joy,¬†seems to love¬†this lippie¬†a whole lot, so I’d definitely take her word for it ūüėČ

“FLASH BLUB” (MOISTURISING)

Though I loved the outcome of the look, I didn’t quite love the lipstick. It took quite a few layers to achieve the desirable¬†colour, which I found to be¬†a bit time consuming.

“WHATEVER” (MOISTURISING) x “SUGAR TWIN” (MATTE)

For this look we played around with two different shades- one moisturizing and one matte- to create an ombre lip. We went from dark-to-light with “Whatever” on the edge of my lips and “Sugar Twin” for a brighter centre.

Now, if I had to choose one and only one lipstick from the line, “Whatever” would definitely be it. Besides the rich colour which won me over, it’s soft, creamy and sooo long lasting; I’m literally fighting the urge to wear it day-in day-out!

Blending the two textures worked perfectly to create a gorgeous and long-lasting look and I didn’t experience any excessive dryness or cracking. Now that’s a win! ūüôā

That said and done, I¬†would¬†genuinely vouch for¬†the lippie line and I simply cannot wait to¬†try out¬†more Ciku Beauty goodies ūüôā For¬†any enquiries,¬†kindly¬†visit their¬†Facebook or Instagram page, or¬†stop by¬†Markucha¬†in¬†town- Corner House on¬†Mezzanine 3, to snug one or two, while stocks last!
