When it comes to risky trends, the art of mixing prints is probably at the top of the intimidating list. What’s really amazing is that once you master the art of mixing, the options for potential outfits in your closet widely increase, so why not take the risk? 🙂
Today I thought I’d share with you some key aspects to consider when serving a print cocktail.
Stripes of any size, or polka dots are the easiest print to mix into an outfit because they function as neutrals and can be paired with almost anything! (See one here)
Wearing two bold prints together can be rather overwhelming, so I prefer to pair a bold piece with a piece whose print is less dominant.
I personally like to mix contrasting tones, like bold colours with natural tones. What would be off, in my opinion, is to have a mix of only super bright, spot-me-from-space kinda colours!
LESS IS MORE
Outfits can easily become chaotic when too many prints are in play. My suggestion is to stick to two prints, to avoid having an outfit that could easily be mistaken for a costume 🙁
I hope this was helpful! 🙂
As we speak I’m currently on the road, enroute to Arusha 🙂 Feel free to drop me a comment with suggestions on spots to visit while I’m there and be sure to stay tuned to my Instagram page for updates and pictures!
