Unless you’ve been living in a deep, dark hole, you know Safaricom Jazz is going down tomorrow! Yaay!  The countdown is finally almost over, with just a few hours left to the most anticipated event of the month. I shared with you guys some fashion rules you should definitely break at the event and tips on how to stand out in all black, so today it’s only logical to share tips on how to easily transition from your work outfit, straight to the concert.

How To Transition Your Outfit From Day To Evening

The event is going down at Uhuru Gardens and the gates open at 6 p.m. I don’t know about you, but I plan to head down straight from work and early enough to secure a good spot to catch Dianne Reeves in action! Here’s how to easily transition your Thursday office look to something a little more glam for the concert.

Forget a change of clothes.

Changing clothes at the office can be a bit of a hustle, especially if you don’t have a car to dump the extra clothes in. My advise? Change the accessories from a subtle office look, to something a little more bold instead.  For instance, If you normally carry a tote bag to work, consider swapping it our for a chic clutch. If you’re wearing a blazer over a dress during the day, switch it up with a leather jacket and statement neck piece/earrings.

Or rather, build up on whatever you have on. For instance, if a smokey eye isn’t something you’d wear to work, carry your palette in your handbag and do the necessary come event time 😉 A bold lip is also worth considering, especially if the rest of your outfit is toned down.

Shoes play a HUGE role in dressing an outfit up or down. For example, if you opt for flats during the day, consider raising the ante with a dressy heel for the evening. The right pair of shoes will automatically give your look a much dressier and pulled together feel.

Last, but not least…

… you definitely want to consider a versatile outfit that easily allows you to go from day to evening without much of a fuss. A little black dress, jumpsuit and stand out pieces like my bell sleeved shirt 😉
