Happy new month, lovelies! We are officially into the last lap of the first half of 2018 and I’m loving the year so far! There’s so much to be grateful for and yet so much more to be achieved before the end of the year, but that’s banter for another day! 😛
Today, I’m addressing the universally dreaded dilemma of what to wear on a first date! “Should you show some leg? Is pink too girly? How much cleavage is appropriate? Is this print too bold?” We all know the struggle. Lol! After some trial and error, I’ve acquired some helpful tips on how to be a sultry-slayer, without looking like you’re doing the most.
1. Keep it sultry, but tasteful.
When it comes to what to wear on a first date, the trick is to strike a chic balance between classy and alluring. If you bear too much skin, you might end up making a wrong impression with your date. Show just enough and leave room for imagination 😉
2. Let the location be your guide.
When planning out what to wear on a first date, it’s important to dress for the location/occasion. For instance, if it’s a coffee date, your outfit should hit the sweet spot between casual and chic, while if it’s a weekend dinner date, you’ll definitely want to raise the ante with something more dressy and alluring.
3. Transitional pieces are your friend…
… if your date is after work. I shared an Outfit Hack Series on how to easily transition your work clothes, to outfits that look just as chic after hours and these tips will definitely come in handy when trying to figure out what to wear on a first date.
4. Icebreaker accessory.
First dates can be a little awkward in the beginning, especially in the conversation department. Lol! If all else fails, an icebreaker accessory, such as a statement neck piece, can be an easy place to start with some banter 😀
5. What to wear on a first date 101!
Don’t wear anything you can’t walk in, eat in or breath in. Comfort is key and if you feel good in what you’re wearing, you’ll ooze confidence. Now, that’s sexy!
There you have it! I hope my tips on what to wear on a first date were helpful! 🙂
